Text Message Consent
Last updated October 24, 2026
This is the texting-consent record for (530) 430-3676, the demo line of SmileDesk LLC, a California limited liability company. SmileDesk LLC makes SmileDesk, a phone receptionist for dental offices. Anyone can call (530) 430-3676 to try it: the receptionist, Sofia, answers for SmileDesk Dental, a made-up demo office with no real dentist and no real appointments. Texts from this number are sent by SmileDesk LLC and signed SmileDesk Dental. A caller gets a text only after saying yes to it on the call. Saying yes is never a condition of trying the demo.
What a caller hears before any text
When a caller books, moves or cancels a visit on the demo line, Sofia says the day and time and then asks this question, word for word, with nothing before it:
“Would you like me to text you the details?”
If the caller says yes, nothing is sent yet. She then says these words, word for word, ending with the question:
“Texts come from SmileDesk, only about the visits on this call. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Terms and privacy are at smiledesk.co/terms and smiledesk.co/privacy. Is it okay to text you?”
She then waits for the caller's answer. Only a spoken yes to these words counts as consent.
- Yes: the first text to the number that called confirms the opt-in (below), then one text with the details follows, and she says it is on its way. A caller who asks for a text before she has asked hears these words first, and nothing is sent before their yes to them.
- No, or no answer, to either question: nothing is sent. She says the day and time once more, and does not offer the text again on that call.
- The yes is recorded with the call: the number that called, the line it called, the words it answered, and the time. Every call needs its own yes before any text.
- A caller who already said yes on an earlier call: on a later call Sofia asks only the first question, “Would you like me to text you the details?” — the words about rates, frequency, STOP, HELP, terms and privacy were read to that number before its first yes and are not read again. She still asks, and still needs a yes on that call before any text, but no second opt-in confirmation text is sent. A number that has replied STOP and then started again counts as new: both questions above, and a fresh confirmation.
- A number that has replied STOP is never texted, whatever is said on a call.
Who sends and who receives
The sender is SmileDesk LLC, which operates (530) 430-3676. Each text is signed SmileDesk Dental, the made-up demo office the caller just spoke with. The texts go only to callers who book, move or cancel a visit on the demo line and say yes, and only to the number they called from. Numbers are never bought, shared or taken from another list.
The texts that follow a yes
First, the opt-in confirmation, sent automatically right after the yes:
SmileDesk: You're opted in to texts about your visits on SmileDesk's demo line. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. https://smiledesk.co/privacy
Then the details. A booking text reads, with the caller's name and the visit filled in:
Hi [First name], this is SmileDesk Dental. You're all set for [Tuesday, October 13 at 9:00 AM] ([visit]). If anything changes, reply here and we'll take care of it. Reply STOP to opt out.
While the line is in demonstration mode, the text opens with “This is a demonstration: nothing in this text is a real appointment.” A moved visit gets one text naming the old and the new time, and a canceled one a text saying it is canceled, each in the same form and each ending “Reply STOP to opt out.”
How often, and what it costs
Message frequency varies: usually one text for each visit booked, moved or canceled on a call where the caller said yes. Message and data rates may apply.
Texting is never a condition of trying the demo
A caller who says no, or says nothing, gets exactly the same demo: Sofia answers every question, and books, moves or cancels the visit the same way. Consent to texts is never a condition of trying the demo, and never a condition of buying SmileDesk.
How to stop, and how to get help
- Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to end all texts from (530) 430-3676 at once; saying it in your own words, such as “stop texting me”, does the same. Apart from one confirmation that the request was received, the number is never texted again unless it replies START, UNSTOP, or YES.
- Reply HELP for help: the reply says who is texting, what the number is for, and how to stop.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties. The details are in the privacy policy and the terms.
